It is troublesome to need to discuss this issue…but it is real. To the extent that information is a powerful weapon, we plan to arm women appropriately.

Violence against women is a serious problem in the United States. It can include either the threatened or actual use of physical, psychological or sexual abuse against a woman by her family members, other intimates, acquaintances, or strangers. Common behaviors of violence include: homicide, domestic violence, partner abuse, psychological abuse, dating violence, same-sex violence, spousal abuse, woman battering, elder abuse, courtship violence, sexual assault, date rape, acquaintance rape, marital rape, and stranger rape.

Most assaults on women are by their partners, and most are not reported. Here, we provide you with descriptions of the various forms of violence against women and let you know the signs that it is occurring. It’s also important to say that there is help.
