Losing interest in sex - is this normal in midlife?
Some women gain interest and enjoy sex more after menopause, when there's no reason to worry about periods and unplanned pregnancies. Generally, the more sexually active you have been in the preceding years is an indicator of where your interests will lie through midlife and beyond. The old saying of “use it or lose it” has some truth – the more sexually active you are, the fewer problems you are likely to encounter. For midlife women, those with regular sexual activity have better pelvic muscle strength and fewer problems with vaginal dryness.
