Their focus is to promote health and quality of life by preventing and controlling disease, injury, and disability. This site is a wealth of information - visit their Health Topics, A - Z web pages for lots of good information on product safety, health conditions and treatments. Other examples of how they have categorized health information for easy access include the areas of Adolescents & Teens, Environmental Health, Foodborne Illnesses, Infants & Children and Women's Health.

    The Weight-control Information Network (WIN) is a national information service of the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), National Institutes of Health (NIH). WIN was established in 1994 to provide health professionals and consumers with information on obesity, weight control, and nutrition. WIN has also developed the Sisters Together: Move More, Eat Better program that encourages black women, 18 to 35 years of age, who live in Boston, to achieve a healthy weight by making changes in their lifestyle. WIN produces, collects, and disseminates materials on obesity, weight control, and nutrition. This site provides: publications, including fact sheets, and brochures, article reprints, and conference and workshop proceedings and much more.

  • National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases

    The National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS) is a component of the National Institutes of Health.
