Multiple gestation despite treatment monitoring
You may have difficult choices to make if you conceive a multiple gestation pregnancy with three or more embryos implanted in the uterus. Each medical situation is different, and only you, your partner and your physician can determine what would be best for you. One choice you may consider is multiple gestation reduction, an outpatient procedure that involves reducing the number of implanted embryos to improve the chance of having a healthy pregnancy - and a positive outcome.
Learn about this procedure from your physician or nurse before treatment begins with medication or ART so that you may consider what you would do if you have a multiple gestation pregnancy and you are faced with this difficult decision. The assistance of an infertility counselor or therapist can be extremely helpful, as in connection with others who have faced this dilemma.
