Emotional Health

What It's About
Everyday stress, depression, phobias, alterations in sleep, eating disorders, etc., impact your emotional and physical health. Each person has an exquisite nervous system that responds uniquely to the internal and external environment. These responses are expressed in feelings and behavior.

This is a wonderful process that makes us able to feel joy and happiness, but also allows us to feel pain and sadness. It is part of the human experience. When feelings of fear, anxiety, and sadness overwhelm our perception, we suffer a variety of symptoms – and just as when we have a physical ailment – we need to seek help to make it better.

The following provides information on the most common challenges women encounter in emotional health. Read this section to increase your understanding of these issues, share the information with a friend, loved one, church group, ladies club, or your physician – but spread the word – you will no doubt help someone in need. Click on the Learn more about button above to see the list of topics covered and to get advice on where to seek help.
