Stress and its affects on the body
There are many kinds of stress and many ways that it can affect your body including headaches, stomach problems, and high blood pressure. While the complex relationship between physical and psychological health is not well understood, --scientists do know that many types of stress activate the body's endocrine (hormone) system, which in turn can cause changes in the immune system, the body's defense against infection and disease (including cancer). On the positive side, there is some evidence that women who breast-feed their infants produce lower levels of stress response hormones, such as adrenaline and cortisol, than do women who bottle-feed. For these reasons and more, finding ways to reduce stress in your life is always a good idea and can help prevent various forms of disease and illness as well as maintain a positive outlook on life.
