Caffeine and breast disease
Caffeinated products like tea, coffee, cola and chocolate do not cause breast cancer. In fact, several studies of coffee in laboratory animals (rats) have been shown to have a protective effect against cancer.

Caffeinated products do not cause fibrocystic breasts. Women with fibrocystic breasts, however, may benefit from reducing their caffeine intake. Reducing caffeine in the diet may reduce water retention and breast discomfort. Studies linking breast discomfort to caffeine have inconsistently shown a relationship, and this is somewhat controversial topic among breast experts.

Each woman has different symptoms and ability to tolerate these discomforts. If you suffer symptoms related to fibrocystic breasts, try reducing your caffeine intake. If it works for you in relieving discomfort, that’s great! Vitamin E, 400 units twice a day, may also help relieve fibrocystic breast discomfort.
