Dr. Laifer attended Cornell University where she received her undergraduate degree in 1985. She went on to earn her medical degree from University of Vermont in Burlington, VT in 1989. Dr. Laifer completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency training at Magee-Women's Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA in 1993.  She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Laifer who speaks Spanish joined Women’s Health Care of Trumbull in January 2008.
