Dr. May attended Georgetown University, where she received her undergraduate degree. She then earned her medical degree from Downstate Medical School and completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency training at Downstate – Kings County Hospital.

Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dr. May has a special interest in adolescent gynecology. She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, the Fairfield County Medical Association, the Fairfield County Obstetrics and Gynecology Society and the American Medical Association.

Dr. May joined Candlewood Center for Women's Health in 1986.
